"What gave you the idea to do a Story like this? I mean the idea to have someone from our world go there. I've always been a fan of stories about people from our world getting sucked into the world of our entertainment." ~ VoodooKarma27
Oh, I've been reading stories like these for ages! I believe I started reading fan fiction in general in 6th or 7th grade (back then, I was all about the *N SYNC fanfics.). It probably wasn't until... I think Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl that I started getting interested in "girl from real world" fan fics. Or maybe it was Lord of the Rings. Whatever, it was around the time those two movies came out. (and yes, I did read a lot of Orlando Bloom fan fiction as well). I mean, it's pretty much everything a fan fiction really, in my mind, is. You place a fan into the story and see what happens. I'm a sucker for a well done Mary Sue (yes, it is possible. I have read them.)
But, anyway, Crossing Timestreams came to me a little at a time and has been floating in my head for months. Part of it started with the episode "Midnight," because I just wanted to hug the Doctor after his ordeal. Part of it came from just plain wanting to be in the show myself, I'll admit it. And the whole malfunctioning vortex manipulator idea came because I couldn't decide what Doctor to use, so this way I could use 10 and 11. So, the actual concept is vaguely a River rip off, though that was not my intention when I started. I was also sick of reading stories where the Doctor falls in love immediately after meeting someone. (I was sad to read one that had such good potential and such a good idea, but the follow through was... horrific... I won't go into details, but, well, the Doctor would never marry a human, especially not after only like two or three months of knowing them. Just saying.) Yes, it seems that Lily and the Doctor's "thing" they have going on is a little soon, BUT remember that it didn't really happen until 11's timeline. And I'm working hard to make this whole romance not happen so soon in the Doctor's timeline. He can have his mess ups, but he's the Doctor, so he's going to mess up when it comes to romance. In fact, he's going to mess up a lot. (And, yes, that is a spoiler.)
As for how Lily feels about him... seriously, let's be honest: an attractive, charismatic, oh so clever, man like the Doctor? If you met anyone like him, wouldn't you fall a little in love with him?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie . . . I'd be a goner. XD
ReplyDeleteCan Lily remember the Silence? Being from an alternate universe, and everything, you'd figure...
ReplyDeleteAnd, are you still alive?????
